The Kokua Festival is back: Jack Johnson is hosting the 6th Kokua Festival in his home state of Hawaii, and will be sharing the stage with Ziggy Marley and the legendary Taj Mahal over Earth Day weekend.

The festival will benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, established by Jack and Kim Johnson to support environmental education programs in Hawaii. In addition to supporting school recycling and farm-to-school programs, the proceeds from the festival will boost the organization's Simplify the Holidays and Plastic Free Hawai'i campaigns.

If you happen to be in Hawaii, it's not an event to be missed: ukulele extraordinaire Jake Shimabukuro and Maui-based singer Anuhea will also be performing, and attendees can try local food, learn about green products and services, and try out eco-friendly clothing from Patagonia, Kashi foods, and organic yogurt from Stonyfield Farm. Following the Kakua tradition, there will be Zero Waste collection sites, a bike valet service, electric trolley, and carpool incentives—and festival generators and vehicles will run on biodiesel.
