Next stop, Portland.
Environmentaland, an interactive green theme park, has finished a stint in Los Angeles and is setting its sites on Portland, Oregon --- the promised land when it comes to Earth stuff. Portland was ranked as the greenest city in the United States last year by Popular Science.
Environmentaland closed up shop in L.A on Oct. 21, with a goodbye party featuring Jason Lytle of Grandaddy fame.
The Portland leg of Environmentaland is due to kick off in spring 2010 and last for three months, said Eric Ritz, executive director with L.A.-based Global Inheritance, the nonprofit that organized Environmentaland Part 1 in The Hollywood & Highland Complex.
"Jason mixed his set with Grandaddy classics along with several tracks from his recent album, 'Yours Truly, the Commuter,'" Ritz says of the end of L.A.'s Environmentaland.

Ritz compares launching Environmentaland to "pushing an aircraft carrier off a sand bar with balsa wood oars.
"With a first-year volunteer staff, no sponsors and a very raw space that could of doubled as a 'Saw 6' movie set, getting Environmentaland operational seemed to be an impossible journey," he said.
He credits FUEL TV with helping save the project. The extreme sports cable network provided organizers with funds to rent advertising space that covered the E-land location on Highland Boulevard.
Environmentaland included a museum, with green exhibits created for Coachella, X Games, Outside Lands, Pearl Jam, MIA and Teen Choice Awards. There were also games that people could play to test their eco-knowledge, and win sustainable prizes --- including merchandise from Loomstate (which made those limited-edition Pearl Jam tees).
"We are looking forward to Environmentaland Part 2, with more thrills, experiences and ideas that will generate a positive shift in society," Ritz said. "Portland, Oregon is our target location. We've already spoken with people and sponsors in the great Northwest who are excited to bring the park up Interstate 5."
