Alternative rock wizards Coheed and Cambria have spent four studio albums weaving an epic sci-fi tale, and are now on concept album No. 5, a prequel called "Year Of The Black Rainbow." They apparently made quite an impression at Coachella 2010, and are using the (increased) buzz to help Oxfam America.
The New York band, led by versatile singer Claudio Sanchez (who can do male and female vocals), have teamed up with Circa Survive and Torche, two bands on their current tour, for the Oxfam America effort. They're selling limited edition silk screened posters by Emek, "The Thinking Man's Poster Artist."
The online auction will raise money and awareness for Oxfam's efforts to fight poverty and injustice around the world. That includes providing assistance to the people of Haiti, who are still recovering from that Jan. 12 earthquake, even though the superstar relief efforts have quieted in recent months.

Some of the buzz from Coachella comes from a main stage performance that featured the USC Marching Band and "Welcome Home," from "In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3."
Coheed and Cambria also were on the bill for the second annual "Rock for Darfur" concert in 2007, a MySpace and Oxfam effort to promote awareness and raise money for an ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan. Emek the artist has teamed up with other musical groups to raise money for charity, too, beyond the Hot Rod Triceratops pictured above.
