Brett Dennen is busy, to say the least. The singer-songwriter has an EP on iTunes that he recorded with Forro in the Dark, a New York-based Brazilian band. Dennen, who's been involved in social outreach through the Mosaic Project and Love Speaks, also is going on tour starting Nov. 13. He'll be traveling North American with Vermont's Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.

No doubt, he'll be active at night.

The tour runs through Dec. 31. Oh, and "Last Call with Carson Daly" will dedicate an entire show to Dennen on Nov. 23.

The iTunes EP is made up of reworked songs from Dennen's current album, "Hope For The Hopeless," including a hit single "Make You Crazy," a fan favorite called "Blessed" and a new song, "Joan of Arc." There's also "Long Road to Forgiveness," a duet with Jason Mraz.

Dennen's music, described as uptempo and optimistic, has been compared to Bob Marley and Paul Simon. Forro in the Dark has collaborated with Steve Earle, David Byrne, The Brazilian Girls and Thom Yorke from Radiohead.

Dennen's resume also includes a single, "Heaven," with former 10,000 Maniacs singer Natalie Merchant, and summer festivals including Bonnaroo, Rothbury, Bumbershoot and Austin City Limits.

Dennen's work in the green field includes his Love Speaks project, which gives local nonprofits an opportunity to set up at shows and provide information to fans about the work they do in the community.

"We feel teaming up with these organizations is vital in creating a just and peaceful world," Dennen says on his Web site.
