With all the spectacular designs swirling around this year's Planet Green and Hessnatur Eco T-shirt Design Challenge, it is no small feat to be singled out as pick of the week. The competition stitches together sustainability and solid design?one organic cotton T-shirt at a time. Organic cotton tees are a HUGE step for sustainability considering that one conventional cotton-based tee requires a staggering one-third of a pound of pesticides and fertilizers and around 700 gallons of water to make.
This week Summer Rayne chose a design to watch in the ongoing contest. Her current favorite melds stunning design into an inspiring depiction of the planet. "I love the femininity yet strength in this interpretation of Mother Earth - as well as the allusion to Algonquin oral history. This design really embodies what Hessnatur is all about," Summer said of her pick.
