The Energy Factory booth at Coachella
Global Inheritance
READ MORE ABOUT:
Planet Green's non-profit partner Global Inheritance mixes a little art with their activism living by the mantra to, "Inform, empower and activate individuals worldwide to think and act creatively in solving global imbalances." But they're not doing it in any ordinary way. Global Inheritance uses the powerful influence of pop culture to sway the music industry—and the masses—to act responsibly using interactive recycling initiatives, zero-energy displays, and other pro-planet programs. It seems to be working: Over the past eight years, the organization has partnered with Coachella Music & Arts Festival, Radiohead, Focus Features and the ESPN X Games. Pop culture junkies and head-bangin' hipsters would be silly not to hop on the Global Inheritance bandwagon.
Earth Day Activities and Volunteering at Global Inheritance
Tasty, Eco-Exercise: Exercise just ain't the same without a freshly made organic smoothie to sip on afterward. But how about a smoothie made without the use of electricity? If you're in the Costa Mesa, California area, head over to a Spin & Shake class, where you can burn calories riding a shake-makin' bike. That's right. The group offers spin classes with a fruity, eco-twist so you can get ready for bikini season in the greenest way ever. For a schedule of classes and more info, check out the TRASHED @ the Camp MySpace page.
Eco-Conscious Concerts: If you're jamming out in honor of Mama Earth at Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California on April 16-18, scope out Global Inheritance's Energy Factory booth. The group will be raising awareness on energy efficiency and teaching folks how to becoming mean, green earth-lovin? activists. In the past, they've offered cell-phone charging bike stations, make-it-yourself biodiesel demonstrations and "Ask the Energy Experts" areas. See what's up there sleeve this year by stopping by. If you can't make it to either, take one of their several Earth Day-inspired activity suggestions to help lower your carbon footprint.
