Kick Off the Earth Day Aniversary Celebration This Saturday

This Saturday, March 20, kick off the celebration of the 40th anniversay of Earth Day with Pamela Lippe, president of Earth Day New York, and Matthew Modine, actor, activist, and founder of Bicycle For A Day.

Taking place during the Go Green Expo at Pier 92 in New York City, the event will mark the unveiling of the E Campaign—and the introduction of an Earth Day like you have never seen before.

Designed to give Earth Day a "fresh face," the E Campaign is an opportunity for people to join together to share and collaborate in positive actions helping the planet. Through this action and an online community, participants can "Be the E." Earth Day New York explains:

Be the E is a call to action that evokes Gandhi's plea to "be the change you want to see in the world." I am E is rooted in the notion that everything on Earth is dependent on everything else and that the Earth is one living organism.


The goal is to showcase the multitude of eco-minded efforts people are making and to support the idea that many small changes can produce big results.
