READ MORE ABOUT:
Volunteering. Do you volunteer? Do you think about volunteering? With the current climate crisis and state of the economy, we all have to look out for each other in every way we can, and that means volunteering. In short, it's time to move from awareness to action. It's time to participate.
For you, this call to service might be a moral imperative, a political draw, or just a way to get together with your friends. Regardless of your personal reasons for volunteering, when we work together and shift some of our time to serving the planet and other people, we make the world better for all of us. Many hands make light work, as the saying goes, and there's a lot of work to be done if this green revolution is going to keep gaining momentum. What better time that Earth Day, then, to turn over a new volunteering leaf?
Solving our environmental problems is going to require both top-down and bottom-up solutions. Now more than ever, we've all got to roll up our sleeves and get to work, in whatever way each of us can, because we're all in this together, and it's going to take everyone one of us—from housewives to politicians to CEOs—getting with the program.
That's why this year a big part of our Earth Month focus includes hundreds of volunteering opportunities across the world. With Earth Day activities for kids, teens, adults, and seniors, anyone can become a part of the solution to help change a community and thereby the planet. We hope you won't lose momentum and inspiration after one afternoon of planting a community garden, though. Get out there and give your time or your special skill set (or learn a new one!), and, if you can, bring a friend!
Thank you and Happy Earth Day. Go earn it!
