
There's nothing wrong with "cool", and we have to admit that few vehicles are cooler than motorcycles (at least in theory—not all of us would ride one). You're basically sitting on an engine with wheels. Can't get much simpler than that. They're not always practical, but the people who love their bikes really love them. American cars, forged in the image of the insecure Americans who think big=good, are, for the most part, bigger than we need, heavier than we need, less efficient than we need, and use a LOT more fuel than they should. Finally, as gas in the US gets close to what it should actually cost - around 7 bucks a gallon is much more representative of the true costs of fuel - even the slow-changing brontosaurs of the Big Three American car companies are seeing the light and changing their ways.

Just because a motorcycle is powered by electricity, doesn't mean it can't go fast. The Orange County Chopper's bike could reach 100 mph, but some people are pushing that limit even higher.

With this many new riders on our roads, and the promise of probably even more to come over the course of the next few years, it is important that these new riders be aware of two-wheel bike safety. A rider on any two wheel vehicle is up to 34 times more likely to be a fatality if involved in an accident on the road.
