Do you have a collection of threadbare t-shirts? If your sentimentality prevents you from tossing out that ratty high school tee, I have five great ideas for saving it. Here's how you can turn those old shirts into items with perks!

  1. Make a quilt. If you've been using your t-shirts as pajamas anyway this shouldn't feel like a stretch. Your t-quilt will help you remember the good old days during the cold winter nights.

  2. Create some festive notebook or binder covers. Display your diehard loyalty to the home team without spending a dime. Cut out the logo of your old tee and affix it to the front cover of your notebooks. It will look snazzy and provide you with a drool protection shield when you have an unexpected office nap.

  3. Decorate your space with a t-shirt from a special place. Reflect on all your fabulous vacations and cover those drab walls at the same time. Make a trip tee collage for any room of the house. You'll never look at family vacations the same once you have those precious memories hanging behind the television.

  4. Keep your computer monitor dust free with a t-shirt sham. Make the necessary adjustments to ensure your old tee fits snuggly around your screen. The monitor sham will not only keep the dust bunnies away, it will also help you show off your school spirit after you've logged off.

  5. Use the rags off your back to clean up your act. Take the old tees you love no more and utilize them for your household chores. They are a great substitute for paper towels since you can wash and reuse as needed. Who would have thought cleaning out your closet and cleaning up your bathroom could be intertwined?
