With summer coming right up and bathing suit season looming, it’s time to prepare your skin for the season. Hot waxing your legs is painful and unfortunately most salon waxes are petroleum-based. You often have to visit a salon for hot waxing which in these economic times seems rather costly to me. Pulling out those hairs hurts like heck for one and it can cause ingrown hairs when you pluck it at the root. Disposable razors clutter up the planet. Electrolysis is costly and in order to have the procedure done on any large portion of the body you have to drive back and forth weekly for a few months before the hair is gone. And how unnatural can you get: lasering all the hair off your body?

But don't fret, here's how to smooth your skin this summer and give the planet a break at the same time:

  1. Buy a Wally Rubber Shower Razor. It attaches to your shower or tub wall and it’s made of sustainably-harvested rubber and is cruelty-free.

  2. After shaving, sooth your skin by applying grape seed oil all over the hair removal areas. Grape seed oil calms redness and dryness on the skin.

  3. Look for coconut, macadamian, and apricot oils in your organic shaving products as they are key to keeping your skin properly moisturized.

  4. Apply aloe vera gel to relieve any rashes and irritation naturally.
