Most of us have t-shirts we don't really wear outside of the house. Most of us have a desire to fill our wardrobe with cute clothes. Because of the above, I have made an effort to show you how to turn your boring old t-shirts into hot summer wear. This t-shirt transformation project is no exception. With just a pair of scissors, an iron, and heat transfer paper, you can make this empire waist shirt that you won't find in stores.

How to make an empire waist shirt from an old t-shirt:

1. Locate your t-shirt. Cut a plunging neckline with a pair of scissors. Keep the sleeves as-are.

2. Cut a long strand long enough to tie around your waist of either from the section of fabric cut out from the shirt or from a different piece of scrap fabric entirely.

3. Using heat transfer paper and an iron or heat press, print a personal message onto the long strand of fabric. I printed off some words about music and its influence on my life.

4. Put the shirt on and wrap the belt around your upper waist, just below your breasts. Having the belt here gives the shirt an empire waist feel.

This project is an easy way to reuse an old shirt and spare fabric. On top of that, you'll be sporting a fashionable shirt with a personalized message. You can't buy that in stores!
