Want to make a cool, sexy shirt appropriate for work or play without making a single cut or sewing even one stitch? In just three simple steps you can make this thrift fashion shirt that plays right into the summer's hot boyfriend-look trend.
All you need is a man's dress shirt—preferably one that's a few sizes too big. Just borrow one from your boyfriend, husband, father, brother or roomie—you're just changing the way you're wearing it, not the actual shirt—or pick up a second-hand shirt at a clothing swap or thrift shop. If you're planning on buying a new men's dress shirt this summer, invest in a thin, organic cotton one that will keep you cool throughout the sweltering summer.

Pull the shirt on backwards over your head, shoulders and arms, and then pull the collar up over your chest (you arms shouldn't be in the shirt). If the opening around your body is really loose, fasten another button or two until it sits on your body comfortably. You're almost done!

To finish off the shirt, there are two options for dealing with the sleeves. If it's a hot summer day and you're heading out with the girls, pull the sleeves behind and tie into a bow. This version will look a little more relaxed and casual, with a sort of ruched appearance.

If you need to wear a jacket—for weather or for office propriety—pull the sleeves behind you, crossing them at the back and pulling them back into the front. Slip the button of one sleeve into the buttonhole of the opposite sleeve, then repeat. Tuck any excess fabric in under the sleeves for a polished, ultra-modern look when paired with a jacket.
