Have you ever stopped to wonder what is in your makeup? After all, you're spreading it all over your face and there's no way you can avoid some of it sinking into your pores. I have personally heard horror stories about some of the ingredients in makeup. As a fan of makeup, I have to say...I don't necessarily want to be rubbing all of that junk into my skin! It just doesn't seem right.

Lately, I have been trying to think of more natural and wholesome ways to approach everything. Sure, our society has advanced to the point where we can put so many chemicals in our makeup that it'll last us until death, but do we really need for our makeup to last that long? Why not use organic materials when we need them?

One makeup item that I was desperate to investigate was blush. Being naturally pale, I've always liked blush. Nonetheless, I don't like the idea of brushing chemicals (and god knows what else) into my cheekbones.

I did some research and came up with a much more simple...and very natural...way to make blush. It works wonderfully and my skin doesn't feel filthy at the end of the day from it.

In the blender, mix 1/4 cup of beet powder with 1/4 cup of chopped strawberries and 1/2 a teaspoon of olive oil. Pour this into a small container and there you have it! It's a creamy blush that rubs on easily and leaves your skin glowing...naturally and affordably.
