You can quickly, easily, and greenly make reusable mitten warmers that will keep your hands extra toasty for 30 minutes or longer, all with a handful of rice and some scrap materials from around the house.
The materials are things you probably already have around the house—uncooked rice or lentils, a needle and some thread (or even rubber bands!) and some scrap fabric like an old dish towel, mate-less sock, or out-of-fashion shirt.
