I'll admit it: Panty Hose tend to make me angry. Every time I get a pair, it seems like they're not wearable shortly after. It's so frustrating! By the spring of each year, I normally have a drawer of hose bought over the fall and winter that aren't any good. For this reason, it's important that we know exactly how to reuse panty hose so that we don't contribute to trash for the sake of fashion. Here are some reuses for panty hose that you may want to consider the next time a pair of yours rips.

1. Freeze
First and foremost, before telling you of how to use the hose after they tear, I have to tell you how to prevent them from tearing in the first place: freeze them. As soon as you get them, freeze them for a few hours. This will strengthen the fibers in the hose and reduce your chances of ruining them sooner than later.

2. Use for fruits and vegetables.
If you cut off the legs of panty hose, they make for great storage nets for onions, apples, potatoes, etc.

3. Use as ties.
The stretchy material in the hose works a lot like a rubber band. Cut of strands of the hose to use for ties and bands across the house.
