There are some very good and some very bad things about nail polish. One of the good things is that nail polish is remarkably cheap and comes in almost every color imaginable. This makes lots of ladies smile. The bad news is that it's pretty toxic for our environment and typically lays around the house much longer than it should. In fact, it seems as though most ladies have a habit of collecting lots of colors but never quite using all of the paint. Over the past few years, I've slowly started to incorporate my nail polish paint into art projects that lay outside of the realm of my nails. Here are my top 3:
Decoration
Nail polish is great for small paint jobs. I've glossed stones with it, painted beads, and even decorated picture frames.
To remove the green
You know how sometimes, when you're wearing cheap jewelry, you're left with a green stain around your neck, wrist, or finger? Well, there's an easy way to fix that. Coat the inside of your culprit jewelry (the part that touches your skin) with a clear nail polish. You'll never turn green again.
Glue
Believe it or not, nail polish actually makes for a terribly strong adhesive. I once used it as glue to fasten pieces of glass to my wall. That was four years ago and the glass pieces are still stuck! So make sure you pick your projects carefully when using nail polish as glue...cause it might just last forever!
Whatever you do, don't let all of that paint go to waste!
