Unknown.

Cleaning out your unused clothes by practicing the closet trick and hosting a clothing swap party are great ways to cut back on clothes and benefit the planet, but what do you do with things that nobody else wants like long underwear and worn-out fleece? Thanks to Patagonia's Common Threads Recycling Program you can now help them recycle your old clothes into new ones.

If you've got old, worn-out Patagonia Capilene Performance Baselayers, Patagonia fleece, and Patagonia organic cotton T-shirts, as well as Polartec fleece from other manufacturers, the company will gladly take them off your hands; you can mail it (address below the fold) to the Patagonia Service Center, or simply drop it off at the Patagonia Retail Store nearest you or at one of their Performance Baselayer Dealers-ideally, while you're out running other errands (on your Cart Bike?). They use a fiber-to-fiber recycling system to make new long underwear, fleece, and other polyester garments from your old duds.If you can't make it to a Patagonia store in your neck of the woods, you can always mail your old garments here:

8550 White Fir Street
Reno, NV 89523-8939

And while you're browsing their site, check out the men's clothing, women's clothing, and kids' clothing they make with recycled content. We already knew that Patagonia can help us all learn what goes in to our clothes; now you can add "you" to that list.
