Use Potato Peels to Highlight Gray Hair

Use the potato peels on your hair and use the potato for your belly.

Potatoes are the creepiest of all foods. They look like monsters. They grow little arms if you leave them in a bucket on the mud porch, and they are covered in eyes. I think Lovecraft wrote all of his stories while staring at a tub of old potatoes.

"Their outlines were human, semi-human, fractionally human, and not human at all—the horde was grotesquely heterogeneous."
—H.P. Lovecraft

That sounds like he's talking about a bucket of potatoes.

Potato Peels and Gray Hair
Asides aside, if you are not too scared of potatoes at this point, you can use the peels to highlight your gray hair. If you are a blonde gone gray, the potato peels will cover the blondeness and give your hair a more uniform color. You can also use this method to darken your grey hair.

How to Highlight Your Gray Hair with Potato Peels
From Kitchen Cosmetics:

Boil potato peels in water, strain, and cool. Use the strained water as an after-shampoo rinse to darken grey hair

The Environmental Benefits of Using Potato Peels to Highlight Hair
Potato peels are compostable, and potatoes are eatable. That means you can put the entire potato to use. You could even eat the boiled skins if you want to. Potatoes have less packaging waste than a store-bought highlighting kit. You can grow your own potatoes, but you can't grow your own nourishing multi-lights highlighting kit. And potatoes are cheaper.

Highlighting products usually contain chemicals that are so harsh that the person applying them has to wear gloves. Those chemicals don't stop being harmful when you flush them down the drain, and the toxic concoctions can damage the hair that is being highlighted.
