Nothing says Valentine's Day like a dozen roses (unless your honey prefers more modern gifts—but even the best bouquet has a limited life. This year, make sure your blooms do double duty with simple recipes that put the leftovers to good use.

Body scrub: combine sea salt, rolled oats, buttermilk powder, cornmeal, rose petals, and essential rose oil; add olive oil to reach your preferred consistency. (Beauty Night)

Skin toner: Combine rosemary, witch hazel, and dried rose petals; strain and apply to face. (Totally Her)

Rose water: Steep rose petals in water and add a splash of coconut milk for DIY rose water. (Homemade Beauty Recipes from Natural Products)
