Ever notice how all the hair models on TV have two things in common? Shine and Volume to be exact. A shiny and voluminous head of hair certainly makes for a beautiful one. So how do we get it? A simple DIY homemade hair remedy will do the trick. Here is a natural and effective recipe for turning that bad hair day into a spectacular one. The best part is that it calls for 1 key ingredient: BEER. That's right...BEER!

Add Extra Shine & Volume

Maybe you've heard of beer rinses before and thought they were crazy, but beer truly does add shine and volume to the hair in a natural and effective way.

  1. Mix together 1 cup of warm flat beer with 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil.

  2. After your regular shampoo routine in the shower, pour the beer rinse onto your hair and work it through each strand, all the way to the tips.

  3. Rinse with lukewarm water.

If the beer is flat, you probably won't smell it on yourself once your hair has dried. However, if you're like me, and have an amazing sense of smell, you can take a few extra precautions so that you don't reek like alcohol.

  • Add a few drops of scented essential oils to the rinse, like lavender or orange oil.

or

  • Take 1 cup of Chamomile Tea that has been boiled and cooled, and then pour it throughout your hair after the beer rinse. Just make sure it sits on your hair for a few minutes before you rinse it out.
