Hang Your Clothes the Eco Way

Most of us use hangers, but most of our hangers aren't any good for the planet. Try these instead!

What's the point in having fancy clothes if you've got nowhere to hang them? Making the most use of the things you purchase is green. It wouldn't make sense to buy a gown and fold it up in your dresser because you'd have a tough time wearing it. So here we have it: hangers are an important part of fashion.

But most hangers on the market are a little eco-evil. We've got wooden, plastic, and wire options readily available and none of them are easily recyclable.

Thankfully, there are companies out there working to make a difference in the hanger industry. The next time you're in the market to get some hangers for those fancy clothes, check out EcoHangers. The Hanger Network has recently released this line of hangers and I'm pretty happy about it. They are made from recycled plastic bottle caps and their encasing is made from 100% recycled paper. They can hold even more weight than the standard hanger (10.79 pounds versus the standard 6.02 pounds) and they even offer some for free to dry cleaners to keep in their stores.

Get yourself on board with EcoHangers and make a difference starting with your wardrobe.
