Your hair care routine should evolve with the seasons. From containing your mane amidst summer's humidity, to attempting to maintain moisture through winter's aired cold, extreme temperatures can cause hair to split and break. But more than the hair on your head; it's time to think about the hair that most people focus on first: the stuff surrounding your eyes, your eyelashes and brows.

Yes, winter's wrath can wreak havoc on your lashes and brows, making them brittle and prone to breakage. Translation: short, sparse lashes... not pretty.

Just because it's crisp outside doesn't mean you have to have brittle, short eyelashes and sparse eyebrows. Try these vitamin-rich, hair follicle-stimulating homemade recipes sure to condition and strengthen your locks... on your eyes:

One-Ingredient Eyelash/Eyebrow Repairing Treatment

Dip a clean mascara brush in pure almond oil. As if applying mascara, swish the oil onto your lashes, making sure to fully saturate them. Go to sleep. Almond oil is a known nutrient, shown to repair dry hair, enhancing elasticity, and returning it to its healthy, supple state.

Sage Lash Conditioner

Ingredients
1 cup filtered water
1 tsp. extra-virgin olive oil (to nourish and minimize breakage)
2 cups fresh sage leaves or 1 cup dried sage (said to encourage hair thickening and growth)

Treatment
Bring 1 cup of filtered water to a boil
Add 1 cup dried sage (or 2 cups fresh sage leaves)
Cover and simmer for 10 minutes
Remove from heat, cool and strain the water into a clean glass container
Add 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil
Dip a clean mascara brush into the mix and brush your lashes
Save the rest at room temp. for daily use. Toss after two weeks
