Is your passion for tees as big as your love for the planet? Have a little artistic talent bottled up inside? We have a contest for you.
Online t-shirt company Threadless famously features cutting edge t-shirts and cute onesies designed by the masses (anyone can upload a design, then visitors to the site vote on the designs, and when a design gets enough votes, the shirt goes into production). Not only is the site one of the biggest crowd sourcing ventures we can think of, they are big on the environment.
Threadless Loves Green is a design challenge presented by the Threadless community to get artists and t-shirt lovers thinking about the environment. Here's what it's all about:
| In anticipation of Earth Day 2009, we'd love for you to let us know what being 'green' means to you… in the form of an awesome tee design, of course! Is it a cleaner environment? Sustainable resources? Renewable energy? Global responsibility? All of the above? Or maybe you have some other ideas… We'd love to see em! Your challenge is to create a design based on the concept of thinking GREEN! |
So let your creativity flow, put your ideas to paper and send it in for a chance to have your design printed on a tee. Not only will you have huge bragging rights, the winner will score a ton of great prizes.
The chosen design will be printed on American Apparel organic tees, and the list of loot is long and growing every day: a Timbuk2 Hacker Daypack bag, an Origins Organic gift bag (value: $275!), a $500 Threadless gift certificate and a Wacom Intuos 6x8 tablet are the sponsored prizes, but there are a ton of creative and unique offers from the Threadless Community piling in daily—everything from a ChicoBag reusable shopping bag to "a sock animal (or monster) of the designer's choice."
Oh, and did we mention $2,000 cash? (We thought you'd like that last one.)
Just 21 designs have been submitted since the design challenge opened on March 17, but we're eager to get the word out there.
So what does it take?
- Download a submission kit
- Create your amazing design
- Submit your design
(It's really that easy.)
Deadline: April 6, 2009 at 11:59:59 CST.
Oh, and if you're lacking in the artistic talent department but want to donate something to the winner, simply e-mail community@threadless.com to offer up goods or services.
