Hats are a popular form of whole-head adornment. Some hats, like the Carmen Miranda fruit hat, are worn mostly for looks. Other hats, wide-brimmed, baseball, stocking, have practical applications that help the wearer endure harsh climates or weather. You, yourself, might be looking for a new hat to delight the senses or to protect the head. And you might want that hat to be eco-friendly. Well then, take a gander at these recycled hats.

  1. Recycled Sweater Hat
This hat is made out of recycled sweaters. If sweaters can keep your trunk warm in the winter, then they shouldn’t have much problem heating your head. The best part about this hat is that you can make a recycled sweater hat yourself.

  2. Recycled Tarp Hat
This hat is made out of recycled tarps. Tarps do a good job of keeping rain off of stuff. It stands to reason that this hat can help keep rain off your head.

  3. Recycled Soda Bottle Hat
Be the first person on the block to wear a hat made out of old soda bottles. Every hat is made from 2 one-liter bottles, and they look just like a regular stocking hat.

  4. Recycled Rice Bag Hat
Want to keep the sun out of your eyes in an eco-friendly manner? The recycled rice bag hat can help you do such things. These fair-trade hats are lined with cotton, and if you wanted to, you could even use them to hold rice.

  5. The Coke Can Visor
Need a little something to shade your telltale eyes during a poker match? The Coke can visor may be just the thing. And if you run out of nickels to bet while playing poker, you can take your hat to can recyclers for the refund money.

  6. The Recycled Beer Box Cowboy Hat
Yee-Ha! You can turn that box of Lone Star beer into a hat. Great for making a statement about what kind of domestic beer you drink. Domestic beer is better for the environment than imported beer, because it cuts down on food miles. The beer box cowboy hat is capable of protecting your face from the sun while on your ranch. Also, Yee-ha!
