Top 5 Green Musicians

Tommy Lee and Ludacris aren't the only green musicians out there; here's a list of 5 more eco-conscious musicians.

While Ludacris and Tommy Lee duke it out in the name of green on Battleground Earth, we thought it'd be a good time to round up some of the other musical artists out there who're fighting to aid the environment.

Willie Nelson – Not only does the legendary country singer tour in a bus that runs on biodiesel (like Luda and Tommy) and publicly extol the virtues of the fuel, but he bottles and markets the stuff himself. It's called BioWillie, and you can find it at biodiesel retailers across the country.

Pearl Jam – There's nothing grungy about Pearl Jam's efforts to help the environment. Long supporters of the green cause, the band made headlines when they donated $100,000 to nine green charities a while back. The members are all extremely vocal environmental to boot.

Jack Johnson – One of the most eco-involved musicians around, Johnson takes the eco-friendly tour to a new level. Not only did he start the All At Once program to raise awareness, which invites local pro-eco non-profits to attend his shows and talk with concert goers, but he brings a veritable greening lab with him wherever he plays. Reusable bottles, a biofuel bus, and coordinated recycling programs are all part of his scheme to green.

Cloud Cult – Maybe not as influential or famous as the other artists on this list, Cloud Cult is definitely the greenest. Seriously, check out their profile in Treehugger. We can't imagine a greener way to make music.

Sheryl Crow – A true eco-activist, Crow is green onstage and off. She went on a "Stop Global Warming" college tour to raise awareness, and speaks up about living green at every chance. Sometimes maybe even too often.

And there are plenty more out there fighting the good green fight. So make sure to support green musicians in their quest to get the world to sing to an eco-friendly tune.
