In this series we look at hot celebrity looks and translate them into eco-friendly versions you can create yourself!

    The Look:

  1. Megalyn Echikunwoke in not-so-basic black and white

There's nothing especially groundbreaking about a black pencil skirt paired with a white blouse and black pumps, but CSI: Miami's Megalyn Echikunwoke elevates the combination by choosing versions that offer twists on the old standbys—like the pockets and front pleating in the skirt, and the tuxedo pleating and flowing sleeves on the shirt.

  2. The Eco-Friendly Version:

  3. Sublet Beylah Skirt

Sublet's slim skirt is classically styled, with a high waist and front pleats, plus darts and a slit in the back. It's endlessly versatile in black hemp and wool, and hits at the knee so you can wear it for business or formal occasions. Nimli, $99.

  4. Fin pleated blouse

Fin's take on the traditional white shirt is made of 100 percent organic cotton, but has a deep v-neck similar to the one Echikunwoke chose. The tuxedo pleated across the midsection adds visual interest, while the whoe piece is Fair Trade-certified and part of Fin's carbon neutral collection. Equita, $145.

  5. Mariposa Pumps

Neuaura's elegant black Mariposa pumps finish off this polished look; the animal-friendly shoes come with a rounded toe and low heel that let you stay on the dancefloor all night. Moo Shoes, $79.
