I've already started to notice it and its not even the harsh months of summer. But using the blow dryer and the flat iron, it doesn't take very long to do some serious damage to your hair. Before you know it your hair becomes dry and brittle and it looks like you need a haircut when you just got one a few weeks ago. I've gotten deep conditioning treatments at the salon before but you never know what the ingredients you're putting on your hair. By making deep conditioning treatments at home you can reduce your carbon footprint and increase your savings all in one. You don't have to frequent the salon which often can be extremely wasteful. Salons use tons of water, chemicals, and energy to function and the more you skip the better off the planet will be.

Just like most deep conditioning treatments, leave this on your hair for at least 30 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Buttermilk Hair Conditioner

½ cup organic buttermilk
1 cup plain organic yogurt
1 organic egg yolk
1 tsp raw coconut oil

Method

  1. Combine all the ingredients and apply to the scalp.

  2. Let it sit in the hair for 30 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
