For an instant, couldn't-be-easier moisturizer, says Donna Maria Coles Johnson, owner of Make Your Own Cosmetics, in the January 2008 issue of Natural Health, scrape off the inner peel of a banana, apply it to your face, and then rinse off after 15 minutes.

If you have more time to spare, Johnson recommends the following recipe for replenishing dry winter skin. "Oats cleanse the skin and honey draws additional moisture to it, while soothing rose oil complements the banana's aroma," she explains.Banana Facial Mask for Dry Skin

1/2 ripe and peeled banana (eat the other half)
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon water
2 tablespoons finely powdered oats
1/2 teaspoon sweet almond oil (or other vegetable oil)
1 drop rose oil (optional)

1. Blend banana in food processor until smooth and mix in remaining ingredients.

2. Apply to clean skin and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water to remove mask.

3. Pat skin dry and apply a moisturizer.

Tip: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight plastic container for up to one day.
