Sure, you can go out and buy a face mask. You can take your money during this recession and spend it on resources that didn't need to be produced in the first place. But why would you do that if you can get an equal or better effect on your skin from products you already have around the house? We've discussed making face masks before on Planet Green, but every mask is different. One of my favorite masks is one that really tightens the skin and leaves it smoother than any product I've ever bought.
Eggs do all the tightening and smoothing, roses and cinnamon are purely for scent, and sugar is for exfoliation. Use a food processor or blender to whip these ingredients together. Although these appliances require energy, they're great green investments because of all of the eco-innovations they can yield. But if you're totally against using the energy (good for you!), these ingredients could be whipped up by hand with just a bit more effort and maybe a mortar and pestle.
