Turn That Dress Into A Scarf

Most girls have a dress that they keep around, but don't really use, right?

Most girls have "that" dress. The dress that seemed like a brilliant idea when you were in the store. You tried it on and it fit your body perfectly. The colors were bold and the pattern was weird, but you knew in your heart that you could rock that dress. And then you didn't.

Sometimes ladies buy items that are a lot cooler conceptually than they are in reality. In fact, I am occasionally one of these ladies. It breaks my heart to see dresses in my closet that were never worn the way that I initially promised myself they would be worn.

Before you totally discredit these shopping mistakes, think of what that dress could be. I've gotten pretty good at giving the clothes I no longer have the taste for a new life as something else.

Scarves, for instance, are insanely popular right now. Bold colors and patterns may not work for you on a dress, but they're easy to pull off with a scarf. Obtaining a scarf from your dress fabric is easy, too. All you need to do is cut a square of fabric out from your dress and work it into your outfit from there.

I've done this a few times and one thing is for sure: the scarves I get the most compliments on are the ones that we once, sadly, "that" dress. Don't toss "those" dresses out and contribute to a growing landfill problem. Instead, figure out how else you can use the fabric.
