Wear Armani-Inspired Zebra Print with the Help of a Black Marker

If you want to stay on board with the zebra print trend, do it without consuming unnecessarily.

What is it about the skin of animals that makes us want to wear it? Whether we're talking about real leather or leopard print, some sort of animal skin is always integrated into fashion. Armani is one of the leading designers this season toting around zebra print like it's going out of style. But since it's not going out of style, you might as well at least accessorize with zebra print. Does this mean you have to buy anything new? Nope. Why waste our resources when you can be a head-turning fashionista the green (and, um...cheap) way?

You don't have to be a Picasso to fashion your own zebra pattern onto a boring, one-color purse or pair of shoes. Not even close. I know this because I suck at art and I have still managed to do the following:

  1. Find an old purse or pair of shoes; preferably in white.

  2. Pull up a zebra pattern on the good ol' internet for reference.

  3. Sketch a makeshift zebra pattern onto said purse or shoes.

  4. Color in the pattern with a non-toxic black permanent marker.

  5. Wear my Armani knock-off around town nonchalantly.

And you can do it, too.

Don't be scared. This is about as easy as staying in the coloring book lines. It's kind of hard to mess up a zebra pattern, after all. I mean, c'mon, it's not like you have to draw a straight line or perfect circle here. Then again, if you were one of those kids who couldn't stay in the lines when coloring—this might not be the project for you, but I dare you to try it anyway.
