Not everyone in the world has GPS. I don't have GPS. I want one, don't get me wrong, but until I get one, finding my way around different cities is done through printed directions or maps. It's an eco-crime, I know, but it's not so bad to utilize a city map (or a treasure map) if you turn it into jewelry after you're done finding your way around. (Note: if you're not into the jewelry idea, you could always just give the map to someone else who looks lost).
If you want to turn your city map into a cool bracelet, follow these steps.
How to turn a map into a bracelet:

Considering how frequently I travel, I think it's kind of funny that I wound up using an old map of my roommate's for this project. But hey, the Tokyo maps look awesome and reusing is reusing—no matter whose stuff you're reusing.

The more strands you cut, the thicker your bracelet will be. Wrap two of the strands around your wrist. Leaving a couple extra inches, cut off the excess paper. Remove the strands from your wrist.

Use eco-friendly glue to layer two strands until they are the thickness you like. Use a shorter strand to connect the ends of the two strands so that a circle is formed. Allow the bracelet to dry and enjoy!
This project is a great way to reuse an old map and turn heads simultaneously. When people ask you where you got your cool bracelet, make sure you tell them about your green lifestyle.
