Got Dandruff? We've all had our fair share of bad hair days. And unless you're Ali Sheedy in The Breakfast Club, those dry, white flakes that fall from our hair can be really annoying-not to mention unsightly. Did you know that a simple DIY homemade hair remedy can do the trick? Here are some natural and effective recipes for turning that bad hair day into a spectacular one. And the best part is--you'll find most of the ingredients in your kitchen cabinet!

Cure Itchy/Flaky Scalp:

There are lots of remedies for this one!

  • Mix 25 drops of Tea Tree Oil, 15 drops of Peppermint Oil and 5 drops of Rosemary Oil into your regular shampoo.

  • Add 2 tablespoons of ACV (apple cider vinegar) to a large glass of warm water. Lean your head over the sink, bath so that you can spread the mixture over your scalp. Cover your head with a towel/reused plastic bag. Leave on for at least 15 minutes, and then wash your hair with your regular shampoo. ACV is a natural acid that helps restore PH balance for a dandruff-free scalp.

  • Cut a lemon in half and rub the fruit into your scalp. Leave on for 5 minutes and wash your hair with regular shampoo. NOTE: Lemon causes the hair to lighten when exposed to sunlight. If you have dark hair like me, this may not be your best option. But if you're looking to enhance your highlights – go for it!
