Choose Crayons

Locate your crayons. Pick just one color or a few that you'd like to mix together if you want. I picked green and pink.

Heat Crayons

Take off the crayon wrappers and break them into small chunks. Heat two of the small chunks on an old spoon over an open flame. The wax will melt rather quickly. After just a few seconds (before the wax liquidates), remove the wax from the flame.

Shape Wax Into Earrings

Shape the wax however you'd like, but make sure there is a pointy end to your shape. Use jewelry pliers to open the ends of two earring backs and carefully run earring backs through the wax while still warm and proceed to close the backs with the jewelry pliers.

Enjoy! I love this technique and I can guarantee that I'll be reusing more of my crayons to make jewelry like this. (I'll keep you in the loop with the projects, worry not). It's also a great way to reuse crayons you aren't currently using while making some cool jewelry, too.
