If you're anything like me, you have art and craft supplies around the house that you sometimes find you aren't making much use of. Crayons, for me, are somewhat of a nuisance. I constantly have them lying around and yet I rarely color anything. (Oh, how much easier life was in preschool). The cool thing about wax, however, is that you can easily melt it down to make other items. (It should be noted that it's better for your indoor air quality to burn beeswax or soy crayons should you have those around instead). I made some cool earrings from some crayon wax and I adore them! (But, I won't be wearing them out in scorching temperatures and neither should you).
How to make earrings from crayons:

Locate your crayons. Pick just one color or a few that you'd like to mix together if you want. I picked green and pink.

Take off the crayon wrappers and break them into small chunks. Heat two of the small chunks on an old spoon over an open flame. The wax will melt rather quickly. After just a few seconds (before the wax liquidates), remove the wax from the flame.

Shape the wax however you'd like, but make sure there is a pointy end to your shape. Use jewelry pliers to open the ends of two earring backs and carefully run earring backs through the wax while still warm and proceed to close the backs with the jewelry pliers.
Enjoy! I love this technique and I can guarantee that I'll be reusing more of my crayons to make jewelry like this. (I'll keep you in the loop with the projects, worry not). It's also a great way to reuse crayons you aren't currently using while making some cool jewelry, too.
