In this series we look at hot celebrity looks and translate them into eco-friendly versions you can create yourself!

    The Look:

  1. Katherine Heigl's Cheery Coat (Slide 1)
After weeks of looking at photos of celebrities who went with either basic black or bright white on the red carpet, we were pleasantly surprised by Katherine Heigl's bright red trench coat at the Marley and Me premiere. The look is grown-up without being dowdy, and chic without being fussy.

  2. The Eco Friendly Version:

  3. Grace and Cello Lucia coat (Slide 2)
The Lucia coat (shown here in gray but also available in red) features oversized buttons and deep pockets that make it perfect for dressy or casual nights out-and the recycled wool/nylon blend is warm enough for even winter's coldest days. (The Green Loop, $365)

  4. Edun Sage straight-leg jeans (Slide 3)
A pair of organic cotton, dark-wash jeans is essential to any wardrobe, and this outfit is the perfect illustration of why: paired with dressy heels and the right jewels, they're fancy enough for red carpets and comfortable enough for marathon wears. (Edun, $80)

  5. English Retreads Model T tote (Slide 4)
English Retreads uses discarded inner tubes from truck tires to make its line of roomy, funky bags; the classic Model T tote has an interior pocket and straps made from seatbelt straps that make hauling all your gear a breeze. (English Retreads, $129)

  6. Snowflake brooch (Slide 5)
Icy, winter-themed jewels—like this 3.25-inch vintage brooch from Eclectica jewelry—add just the right sparkle to a classic coat and jeans. (Eclectica, $165)
