The sweet and spicy pairing of cinnamon and vanilla have been used for centuries to ignite passion between the sheets. Adding a dash of cinnamon in this creamy concoction also helps increase blood flow, relieving muscle aches and pains should your amorous antics take an...ahem...athletic turn. "Omit the spices if you already more than enough honeys already," say Jennifer Knapp and Amy Saidens, authors of Beauty Magic: 101 Recipes, Spells, and Secrets (2004, Chronicle Books), "or if you have sensitive skin, for a nice basic, everyday lotion."

Get hot and bothered with their Valentine's Day recipe after the jump.Cinnamon and Vanilla Body Lotion

8-ounce jar
6 tbs apricot kernel oil
2 tbs dried rose petals
2 tbs broken cinnamon sticks
4 crushed cardamom pods
2 tbs jojoba oil
1 tbs emulsifying wax (derived from vegetables)
1 tbs stearic acid (derived from vegetable fats)
Whisk, hand mixer, or blender
A few drops each cinnamon and tangerine essential oils, and vanilla absolute
1/4 tsp vitamin E oil
Two 8-ounce bottles

1. In the jar, pour the apricot kernel oil over the rose petals, cinnamon, and cardamom. Cover the jar and let infuse 3 to 4 days. Pour the oil into a sieve over a small bowl, removing plant material and retaining the infused oil.

2. In a double boiler set over simmering water, stir together the infused oil, jojoba oil, emulsifying wax, and stearic acid until melted. Pour a slow stream of water into the mixture while stirring. When the mixture is smooth and thoroughly blended, remove it from heat.

3. Using a hand mixer, blend in the essential oils, absolute, and vitamin E oil until the mixture is fluffy and thickened. Decant the lotion into the bottles, let cool slightly before capping, and label if you wish. Stored in a cool spot, the lotion should stay fresh for 1 month. Shake before each use to diffuse the oils.

Tip: Cinnamon essential oil is highly concentrated in its pure form and can irritate some people's skin. When mixing up the lotion for the first time, begin by using a small amount of essential oil, perform a patch test on your skin, and then carefully add more if you wish.
