Buy Man Made Diamonds This Christmas

Put a ring on your hands without feeling like you’ve got blood on them.

In a perfect world the amount of  money spent on a diamond ring shouldn’t be an effective measure of how much you love another person. Advertisements or other cultural stimulus may make you feel that if you don’t buy an exotic, expensive diamond, then you don’t adequately love your loved one. It’s not good to feel that way. In fact, cheaper, man made diamonds can be a way to show that you not only love your partner but also others in the world around you.

Blood Diamonds
Blood Diamonds, also known as Conflict Diamonds, are often harvested from the earth in forced-labor camps. Or they are stolen from legitimate diamond mines and smuggled across international borders where they make the way onto the fingers of your loved ones. Either way, many diamonds have murder, slavery and theft as a part of their history.

Conflict Diamonds
Human beings are part of the environment. Protecting the planet means protecting each other. When someone purchases a diamond that comes from illicit sources, they are funding these abhorrent practices. We can stop, or at least throw a monkey wrench into, these kinds of practices by refusing to buy diamonds that come from suspicious sources.

Man Made Diamonds
Man made diamonds are real diamonds. They are just created in a lab. Don’t get hung up on the fact that they weren’t mined and are cheaper. For all intents and purposes they are diamonds. They can be produced in the United States. This cuts down on shipping and C02 emissions. You can buy a diamond or two and not have to worry about the origin of the diamond. It was made by a scientist or an engineer who probably was well compensated for his or her time. Please buy ethical jewelry
