It's sad when your favorite pair of shoes get worn down to a point of no return. I've worn my favorite boots so much over the last 4 months that they already have a gaping hole in the heel. I decided to turn these boots into a bracelet because they had a cute buckle on the side, but you can turn the material from your old boots into a bracelet regardless of whether or not they've got a buckle.
How to turn your old boots into a bracelet:

Cut off a strip of material from the boots about 1-2 inches wide and 8-12 inches long (depending on the size of your wrist).
Cut a slit near one end of the material and cut the other end so it is pointed.

Attach a button to the pointed end. You can do this in various ways. I used my jewelry plier to pry open a metal circle I had from some old earrings. I then connected the back of the button to a hole in the pointed end of the material I had made with the metal circle. If this sounds like too much work, try using a strong adhesive instead.

Pull Button Through
Put the strap around your wrist and pull the button through the slit at the other end.
Enjoy! This project is a great way to reuse old material—especially the kind that is often found in boots. It's stylish and will be a great way for you to discuss your green lifestyle should anyone remark on how cool it is.
