In this series we look at hot celebrity looks and translate them into eco-friendly versions you can create yourself!

The Look: She's definitely no Ugly Betty on the red carpet: at this year's Emmy Awards, best lead actress nominee America Ferrara showed off style and sustainability in a vintage, tea-length cocktail dress and antique jewels.

The Copy: This is an easy one, since buying vintage is already a huge eco-friendly step. Check upscale consignment stores, estate sales, and online retailers (though be wary of buying used items you can't inspect using our guidelines) for dresses with similar styling: ruched fabric, a full skirt, and ribbon detail at the waist. And if Fred Leighton isn't knocking on your door with borrowed diamonds, ransack your grandmother's costume jewelry.
