There's no palm oil raining down like acid rain destroying the animals and vegetation below. However the unsustainable production of palm oil is causing deforestation in Indonesia and Malaysia. Clearing large tracts of forests by burning and clear cutting are destroying the forest. And likewise the habitats for tigers, orangutans, elephants and other animals.
